The United Way of the Black Hills is nearing the home stretch of its 2009 fundraising campaign.
So far the organization has reached 63 percent of its 2 million, 261 thousand dollar goal for the year. That leaves a little more than 837–thousand left to raise. The organization strives to finish its fundraising campaign by the Thanksgiving holiday but admits the goal is typically not reached until Christmas. The money raised by the United Way of the Black Hills supports many non–profit agencies in Rapid City and throughout the Black Hills.
