President Barack Obama signed the Tribal Law and Order Act at a White House ceremony Thursday afternoon.  The president says he signed the law for every family that feels justice is beyond reach and for every tribal community trying to keep its people safe.

The South Dakota Ellsworth Development Authority has come up with a way to provide space for people who decide to move out of what are called the Air Installation Compatible Use Zones located near Ellsworth Air Force Base.

There will be a few less bumps in the road when drivers hit the streets of Rapid City.  Rapid City Mayor Alan Hanks wants to start a new pavement maintenance plan to help preserve the life of the city's roads.

In Deadwood, a long-running celebration is getting underway. The Days of '76 kicks off Thursday night with the first rodeo of the series starting at 7:00.  Cowboys from all over the country were converging on Deadwood Thursday, and rows of horse trailers were lined up at the rodeo grounds parking lot.

The South Dakota School of Mines continues its efforts to get young minds interested in math and science with its summer youth programs.  Kids Thursday were learning how to build "kicking machines" using a variety of simple materials.

It started out as heavy rain, then came the small hail and then came the big hailstones.  This is the aftermath along Highway 16 in Rockerville Thursday afternoon.  About 15 cars were pulled off the road, heavily damaged by the baseball-sized hailstones.

It's a day that many at Ellsworth Air Force Base have been looking forward to for months - a homecoming celebration for the 34th Bomb Squadron. 

Over four years ago, while tearing down a wall in Deadwood's Presidential Neighborhood, construction workers made what turned out to be a historic discovery. They found a casket handle which eventually led them to human remains almost a year later.
